LOCATION:
The resort is located the Alor Gajah exit on the North South Expressway (NSE or PLUS highway). Generally, Alor Gajah is located some 2 hours south of Kuala Lumpur or 2-1/2 hours from Singapore / Johor Bharu.

DESCRIPTION:
Situated on the vast expanse (1,300 acres, to be exact) of rolling hills in Alor Gajah, the resort is fast becoming a weekend gateway for the city folks from Kuala Lumpur as well as Singapore.

The bulk of its area takes the form of the 27-hole golf course, as well as water theme park called Water World which the resort claims to be something of Asia's biggest. Also there are also a zoo-cum-safari called Animal World as well as Cowboy Town which should complete the family-fun offerings of A Famosa Resort.

I stayed at a 5-storey hotel block called the resort hotel, which has an exquisite roof architecture that is influenced by the Minangkabau design ubiquitous in the neighboring state of Negeri Sembilan. Other options for visitors are the condotels  with 1-3 bedroom units and finely-designed bungalows which offer you 3-5 bedrooms.

My room at the resort hotel was fairly standard, with a nice greenery view. Nothing much can be commented about the room interior as it looks fairly outdated. also liked the golf clubhouse with a large triangular roof and open air networking area inside.

MY VERDICT:
A good family-themed resort. Average room design overall. A great weekend spot for families with unique attractions such as Water World, Animal World, Cowboy Town and the 27-hole golf course.
